Reduced Storage TCO
Storleap employs two forms of high performance and inline data reduction techniques to reduce the data footprint by 3-5X, driving down storage costs. By running on top of existing storage infrastructure, installation becomes very easy to deploy, without the need for new hardware or disk formatting. It looks and acts just like any other file-system, with Posix-compliant access control, and access-control lists on Linux, and NTFS-compliant access on Windows.
Fast Data Replication
By being able to rapidly and efficiently identify changes in datasets, Storleap enables faster data synchronization and replication between network endpoints than other common solutions including rsync. This not only results in significant time savings, but reduces network traffic costs as well. With data optionally encrypted using military-grade FIPS 197 encryption, rapid synchronization and replication can be performed with confidence over public networks and the internet.
Data Archival with Version Control
Storleap was designed for instant, low-overhead snapshot creation. Thanks to its object based storage, previous snapshots can be instantly accessed, with the same performance as any other file accesses on Storleap. This enables simple and efficient version control and recovery for all versions of files stored in Storleap
Wide Platform and Device Support
Versions of Storleap are available for a range of platforms and devices from mobile devices to high-end servers, and are specifically optimized for each platform. It is available for x86/x64 servers as well as for 32-bit and 64-bit ARM servers across major Linux distributions, Windows, and OS X. On mobile devices, it's available for Android and iOS platforms.
De-duplication on Commodity Hardware
High performance dedupe has traditionally been very memory intensive, making it inappropriate for ordinary servers or commodity hardware. Instead only low-performance dedupe could be run on such platforms, but with relatively little overall benefit. Storleap is extremely memory efficient, enabling high-end dedupe performance to be deployed on ordinary servers, desktops and even mobile devices.
Robust Performance on Hard Disks
Traditional de-duplication tends to be deployed on expensive flash-only storage, or on disk-based storage with abundant flash-based caching. The gradual accumulation of dedupe fragmentation can cripple performance on hard disks. Storleap employs advanced new technologies to provide robust performance even on hard-disk only solutions. These same technologies can increase performance on flash and hybrid storage as well.
Storleap supports replication/synchronisation to and from your Amazon S3 account. Unlike other solutions, however, Storleap stores the data on S3 in a de-duplicated, compressed and optionally encrypted manner. This can result in dramatic savings in monthly storage costs, improved security, as well as faster synchronisation.
Thin Provisioning and Cloning
Storleap supports thin provisioning and rapid cloning of files and disk images for use in virtualisation environments. These techniques allow for the efficient utilisation of limited storage resources
Storleap supports military grade FIPS 197 encryption (with 128-bit or 256-bit AES) for all user data at rest and in transit. Data cannot be decrypted by anyone (including us) without the correct decryption key/password.
